WHITMORE - WHITMORE E.P
As far as I can see, Whitmore are just another addition to the whole British-Punk-Scene
thang thats going on, and it's going to take them a lot more than this to
be up there with Capdown, Douglas, and all the other great bands which the
UK has produced. The first song 'Alison', is like, a low key version of
a song that New Found Glory, or someone of the likes would have wrote, with
off key vocals, and harmonies thrown in, and the next song 'Hydrant' is
pretty much just the same as it, only with the pace, and little tiny bit
of energy delievered by Alison taken away. One thing I will definetley credit
Whitmore for is that they are a pretty decent live act, and the last two
tracks on this are live recordings, the first of which 'Listed', isn't anything
special and im sure they could've chose a better song from their roster
to put on the CD, as the song completely lacks charisma and rythym. But
the last song of this short CD, 'Famous Last Words' is the best song on
this CD, and is the song which generally produces a circle-pit at their
shows, and the song itself, rythymical, charismatic, and just generally
a well constructed song, unlike the rest of this CD. Whitmore, are fairly
good at what they do, and if they invested in a new singer with a bit of
tune, could expand from the British scene, but until they do, I doubt they'll
be going anywhere.
